Against the background of New Liberal Arts construction, curriculumbased ideologicalpolitical education has become a core requirement for talent cultivation within Chinese higher foreignlanguage education. English Writing, as a core skilloriented course for Englishmajor undergraduates, bears dual missions of languageskill training and value shaping. Traditional Englishwriting instruction is frequently trapped in instrumentaloriented teaching logic, prioritizing linguistic techniques while neglecting the cultivation of students’ Chinesenarrative competence, crosscultural critical awareness and patriotic consciousness. Based on practical teaching experience of ZW University, this paper sorts out prevailing painpoints in conventional Englishwriting classrooms, elaborates innovative concepts, implementation pathways and typical teaching cases for integrating ideologicalpolitical education to facilitate Chinesenarrative writing. A onesemester comparative teaching experiment was conducted among 60 secondyear Englishteacher majors. Adopting a generalized curriculum ideologicalpolitical effectiveness scale, this study measured students’ patriotic consciousness, internationalcommunication awareness, value cognition and writing selfefficacy. Semistructured interviews further explored students’ recognition of this innovative teaching model and influencing factors for implementation. The findings indicate that the blended instructional design with embedded ideologicalpolitical elements can significantly enhance participants’ patriotic awareness, crosscultural communication willingness, value cognition and writing selfefficacy. Most experimentalgroup students held positive attitudes toward this reformed curriculum, yet several practical restricting factors including readingmaterial difficulty and academic workload should not be ignored. This research provides actionable pathways and empirical evidence for advancing curriculum ideologicalpolitical construction within skillfocused foreignlanguage courses.
