On the Translation of Culture-loaded Words in The Lane from the Perspective of Eco-translatology

Qinyu Gu

Abstract

With the increasing cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, the translation and dissemination of literary works become increasingly important. In this paper, the source text is Ke Ling’s prose The Lane, and the translation is from Selected Modern Chinese Essays, written by Zhang Peiji. In this paper, some culture-loaded words are selected to show the translator’s adaptation to the ecological environment of translation and his choice of the target text under the guidance of Eco-translatology. The adaptive transformation in linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions is also analyzed. Eco-translatology shows great importance in translation, and provides some enlightenment for other Chinese literature translation.
